In line with its strategy to explore new business opportunities in sectors where there is quantifiable and sustainable demand, Almeer Group established Almuntazah Travels in 2005, as a fully IATA-accredited travel agency. Differentiated by its focus on trust, personalised service and value-for-money travels solutions, the Company has developed a loyal clientele, comprising retail, corporate and public sector customers.
Following the opening of the first branch in Muharraq, additional branches were opened in Hoora and Riffa, which are conveniently located in Almuntazah Market outlets. Since 2005, the staff – with both ticketing and holiday expertise – have more than doubled, with Bahraini nationals accounting for over 50 per cent of the workforce.
The Sabre-based ticketing facility is fully computerised, and provides a speedy and convenient e-ticketing service for customers. Almuntazah Travels deals directly with all IATA-accredited airlines, but has a particular focus on two leading regional airlines – Gulf Air and Qatar Airways. Dealings with non-IATA-accredited airlines are handled through agents. In response to customer demand, the Company is currently finalising plans to offer online booking and payment facilities.
As well as ticketing, Almuntazah Travels offers special holiday packages for families, including organised tours and cruises. The Company has a separate Corporate Division, with dedicated staff servicing the needs of companies and Government ministries and other public sector institutions. A special out-of-hours service is provided for select customers to meet urgent or last-minute travel requirements.
Looking to the future, Almuntazah Travels has a clear strategy to develop its business and increase the range of services offered. These include expanding in-bound services, with special hotel deals, transportation, and meet-and-greet facilities. The Company is also planning to expand its corporate business, with additional special services including a direct booking facility; and to develop further agency arrangements.
