The Almeer Group has an enduring commitment to contribute to the social well-being and economic prosperity of the Kingdom of Bahrain. During his lifetime, the Group’s founder, the late Mr Jalal Almeer, followed his father’s example in supporting the local community and caring for the less privileged sections of society. This is used to provide financial support for numerous charities; cultural, social, medical, educational and community organisations; and deserving causes.
The Group provides employment and career opportunities for over 850 people. Priority is given to the recruitment, training and development of Bahraini nationals. Almeer’s social responsibility also embraces the conservation of energy, protection of the environment, and the health of society. Since opening its first outlet in 1984, Almuntazah Market has not sold tobacco products in order to protect its customers from the dangers of smoking.
